CONNECTING TO MECCANOID


The app will automatically search for nearby Meccanoids. When you see your robot’s name, tap it to connect.

When prompted, press the yellow button on your Meccanoid to complete the connection.

MAIN MENU


You can access the main menu at any time by pressing the button at the bottom of the screen.

FIRMWARE UPDATE


Once connected, you will see if a firmware update is available for your Meccanoid.

To update your Meccanoid, connect the robot to a PC or MAC. Then use the Robot Updater software available online at http://www.meccano.com/meccanoid-robot-updater

BATTERY INDICATOR


This meter shows how much power your Meccanoid has left.

 ANIMATION BUILDER


The animation mode button allows you to switch between different types of animation. Press a button to choose a new mode.

MODES


There are four animation modes:

  • Ragdoll
  • Ragdoll Practice
  • Lights
  • Sliders

TIMELINE


The recording timeline contains tools to help you record and test your animation.

Hold down the microphone button to record audio.

Drag the scrubber bar to review your animation. Pressing play starts the animation from the position of the scrubber bar.

RECORDING ANIMATION

In Ragdoll mode, simply hold down a control bubble to move your Meccanoid's limbs. The movements will be recorded automatically.

Drag the Timeline bar to layer additional movements or re-record over an animation.

ROTATING VIEW


Sometimes it is easier to move the ragdoll from a different point of view.  Press the arrow buttons on either side of the ragdoll to rotate it.

DRIVING THE MECCANOID


You can control the motors in your Meccanoid's feet by holding down the arrow buttons closest to the ragdoll's feet.

LIGHTS MODE


In Lights mode, you can change the colors of the lights in your Meccanoid.  Tap the icon to change color. Then use the color wheel to select a new color.  Use the check button to save.

ANIMATING EYES


The Meccanoid's eyes have a wider ranger of colors than the lights in the servos. You can also select the speed of the color change.

SLIDER ANIMATION


You can use the slider controls to animate individual servo motors. This is useful when you have created an alternate build with your Meccanoid system.

SAVING ANIMATIONS


Use the file buttons to save an animation, load an existing animation, or start a new one.

Note: Pressing the new button will erase your animation if you have not saved it.

YOUR ANIMATIONS


From the Files Menu, access your animations by pressing the My Animations button at the bottom of the screen.

There are three types of files:

- My Animations

- LIM Animations

- My Behaviors

My Animations - these are animations that you have created using the Animation Builder.

L.I.M. Animations - these are Learned Intelligent Movements (L.I.M.) files created by physically moving the robot.

My Behaviors - these are Behaviors you have saved that can be loaded and played in Behavior Builder.
